Coe Design Studio is a boutique upholstery studio specializing in traditional methods. We work with collectors of 18th and 19th century antiques to restore valued pieces of furniture.
The business is run by Amanda Coe who, after working as a textile designer, received professional upholstery training in England. She brings her knowledge of old world methods and materials to the New York City area where she keeps the centuries old craft alive.
Every antique chair has a unique story to tell. From the craftsmen who laid their tacks in it to the wear in the wood from centuries of use. The studio focuses on preserving as much of the original materials as possible while creating upholstered forms that are apropriate to the specific region and period of the chair. With fine craftsmanship and attention to detail we hope to make your furniture last another century.
